Thay are called dazzles, It records what ever is on your TV. I believe you plug it into your computer or laptop then from there you plug in your xbox video cable into the dazzle. when you've done recording it saves straight to you computer. If you want the Best Quality then go with the Happague HD PVR the best capture card i know of Price range:$250-$300

Medium quality : Dazzale price range:$45-$100

Not that good quality: Easycap 2.0 price range $5-$10
